Vehicle Categories

The toll rate depends on your vehicle's category. Classification is based mainly on size and weight. This guide presents the main categories and what they cover, for reference.
The classification principle
Vehicles are grouped into pricing classes according to criteria such as gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR), number of axles and height. The heavier and bulkier the vehicle, the more it wears the infrastructure: its pricing class is therefore higher.
The main categories
| Class | Vehicle type (indicative) |
|---|---|
| Class 1 | Motorcycles and powered two-wheelers |
| Class 2 | Passenger cars and light vehicles (GVWR ≤ 3.5 t) |
| Class 3 | Vehicles with a trailer or caravan, mid-size utility vehicles |
| Class 4 | Heavy goods vehicles (GVWR > 3.5 t) and coaches |
| Class 5 | Heavy multi-axle road combinations |

This table is an educational simplification. The exact definition of the classes and the associated rates are matters for ADM: check the official classification before any calculation.
How to find your class?
- Refer to your vehicle registration document (GVWR, type).
- Watch the signage as you approach gates, which often lists the classes.
- If in doubt (towing, trailer), check with ADM's official sources.
