Jawaz is the electronic tolling system for Morocco's motorways. An electronic tag fixed to the windscreen lets you pass gates without stopping at the booth. This guide explains the principle, the installation and the use of the tag, in general terms.

What is Jawaz?

Jawaz is an electronic toll tag linked to a prepaid account. As you approach a dedicated lane, an antenna detects the tag, calculates the amount due and debits it automatically from the account; the barrier then lifts without you having to handle cash.

Fitting the tag

  1. Clean the indicated area of the windscreen (usually behind the mirror).
  2. Stick the tag as instructed, without covering it with a metallised sun visor.
  3. Check that the linked account is funded before joining the motorway.

Using a Jawaz lane

  • Spot the lane marked with the Jawaz logo and slow down sharply.
  • Move forward slowly; the barrier lifts after the tag is detected.
  • Keep a safe distance: only one car passes at a time.
If the barrier does not lift (insufficient balance, tag not detected), follow the displayed instructions and never force your way through.

Topping up the account

Top-ups are done through ADM's official channels (physical points and official online services). This site provides no top-up: search for ADM's official website (adm.co.ma) in your browser for current options.
